Gatham (Telugu) (Amazon Prime) - A thriller that works !!!
The story of a couple forced to lock horns with a psychopath is what Gatham is setup as.
There is an air of fakeness and artificiality in the way Gatham unfolds for the first half an hour. You quite know that it is a 'make-believe' setup that is being shown to you and the major plot is yet to be revealed. Thankfully it does work well after the major unravel and the events that follow suit have the right amount of suspense, thrill and emotional connect to keep you hooked on. The gripping narrative helps overcome the presence of a whole lot of in-experienced actors to a great extent and with a pretty good climax to cap off things, it's a movie that works fine. It does have it's share of flaws and illogical moments throughout it's narrative, but considering the fact that this was an attempt at a pretty small canvas, it is ignorable.
This is an interesting, harmless thriller and should be well worth the 100 odd minutes you invest on it !!!
